Definitely! It's there. There are a few amateurs doing it but UA-cam algorithms don't promote it if you're a little channel. Have a look at Gasolini, John's Projects and I am making a coach built Riley Brooklands with wooden frame and aluminium body.

Gloves? Or are the edges not sharp? Have you determined the cost of the tools necessary to make the frame and body a car? Having the money does not indicate any ability, of course but a determined individual could try probably with quite a bit less.

    •  9 днів тому

I wear gloves when necessary. As for cost of tools.. I built FF001 on a $3,800 Formula Vee with a used $150 MiG welder, $200 English wheel, a tree stump I harvested from my woods and bought materials as I could afford them. I think the real question is how bad someone wants to achieve something. 🏁🏁

This is so killer. I'm not sure if you are editing this short on purpose, but I would've loved more detail on the filing of the welds and cleaning up the edges as perfectly as you do. I would love if you would leave more detail in these videos, unless that's the secret sauce that you don't want to get out in the world…

I think it's fair to say that ... if a shape is formed with a mixture of stretching and shrinking, then there must be neutral contour(s) at the transition between stretched area(s) and shrunk area(s). What I can't quite work out in my mind is what ruleset governs where such contours should lie. For example, does a neutral contour need to lie in a unique plane?

I just had a vision ,your car but instead of aluminum, COPPER,body , I'm Edward HENDERSEN , my concept car ,THE AUDI TT , Was my brain child , if you take a Frisbee and cut it in half and look at the side profile you will see the design for the front and rear of the car .then I put a VW roof on it laid the front supports back and sloped the roof down and there you have it the poor man's Porsche 😊 my pride and joy , there was a problem with the transmission, a rivet in the shifting fork , easily replaced by a bolt , I know how proud you must feel of your work, and I am excited for you 🤘😎🤘

After the prototype is dialed in , wouldn't it be cost effective to scan each panel and the stamp each piece then trim for fit , or are you trying to avoid that and keep it %100 hands on? I used to have a 71 Fiat Spyder (super fun car) and watch videos about how Fiat had ten guys pounding body panels with mallets on tree stumps. Great stuff

No music needed but do so if you must; I’d rather hear what the English wheel is doing. It seems to make a different sound depending on the amount of pressure between the wheel and the dies but difficult to hear through the music.
